Cornelia Komili

Biography
Cornelia is a Greek artist born in Thessalonik, who came to France to study Art. Her paintings focus on representation of fragmented sections of urban architectural structures. Her subjects are from daily life, interstitials spaces that do not attract attention but boast some real aesthetic interest. “Construction sites are some recurring features of my artwork. In Greece they are part of the city landscapes. Sites are desolated and deserted due to lack of funds. Their future is up in the air and they have become havens of peace amongst noisy Greek cities. I am interested in their simple shapes and numerous openings that create interdependence and opposition with their surroundings.
